About place: Belousov Park

Belousov Central Park of Culture and Leisure is the largest park in Tula and one of the largest parks in Russia. The park occupying an area of 143 hectares is located to the south from the center of the city.

The park was created on initiative of the local public health doctor Pyotr Petrovich Belousov in 1893. It was created on the place of the city dump. The park now bears the name of Belousov.

Two thirds of the park are taken up by a forested area and the recreation part of the park is on the side of Lenin Avenue. There are walking alleys and various amusements at Belousov park. A bit further on is a cascade of three ponds and fountains.
