Ukraine travel guide: Ukraine

Ukraine is one of the largest Eastern Europe countries. And it borders on Russia, Poland and Romania. Kiev is the capital of Ukraine.
Kiev is a very green and rather interesting historical city. This old town founded in the 11th century was the «cradle» of the Ukrainian nations. In the early Middle Ages Ukraine and Russia have a common history and Russian nation began to develop just in Kiev, the capital of «Kievan Rus».

In the period of feudal fragmentation Moscow became more powerful and Kiev gradually lost its importance. And in the 17th century Ukraine was incorporated with Russia, and since then until the end of the 20th century they were a single state. In 1991, after collapse of the USSR, Ukraine regained its independence.

The main tourist attractions of Ukraine are Kiev and Lvov, as well as Crimea where there are many beach resorts.
Kiev has many curious historical sites, such as Kievo-Pecherskaya Lavra, St. Michael's Golden-Domed Cathedral, Sofia's Cathedral, Kreschatik and Andreevsky Descent, etc. There is a lot of greenery in this truly European city. And there you can not only visit various historical sites but also have a fun in some night club. There are a lot of beautiful girls in Kiev.

Lvov is in west of Ukraine. Its Old Town has a lot of medieval features. The City Hall, combined with numerous churches and narrow streets, create an atmosphere which is very favourable for quiet promenades.
