About sight: Grasley Quay

From the small port located at the confluence of two rivers, Leie and Schelde, to St. Michael's Cathedral there stretches Grassley Quay. Korenlei Quay is on the opposite side of the river. Both quays form the most interesting area where one may have long strolls, just sit somewhere in the quay, or take a boat ride, in other words, one can enjoy tranquility there. Especially, it is fine there in summer. As house windows and the entire quay are decorated with flowers. On both sides of the river there located the buildings of XVI-XVII centuries belonging to different merchant's guilds. All of them are very picturesque, and in many houses windows are made of mica, which was the prototype of today glass.
