About sight: Pont Neuf

In spite of its name it is the oldest bridge of Paris. It consists of two spans and traverses the entire Cité. The bridge was built in 1578-1606 and its first architect was du Cerceau.

The distinctive feature of the bridge was that there were no houses on it. Not far from it there is also a beautiful bridge of St. Michael.
