About sight: Palais de Chaillot

Today's Palais de Chaillot was built in 1937 on the site of the old palace of Trocadero. Now Palais de Chaillot features two wings shaped to form a wide arc. However, unlike the old palaces, the wings are independent buildings and there is no central element to connect them; instead a wide esplanade leaves an open view from Trocadero Place to the Eiffel Tower and beyond.

There is an aquarium on Trocadero Place dating back to 1878, which has been reconstructed for a long time. And in 2006 it was reopened and is now one of the largest European aquariums.
