About sight: Valley of the Queens

The Valley of the Queens is 1,5 kilometers to the north from the Valley of the Kings. It is wider than the Valley of the Kings, and it has paths connecting it with the neighbouring villages.

Nearly all of 50 burials date back to the period of XIV-XII B.C. The tomb of the wife of Pha-raoh Ramesses III is of utmost interest, even though it differs from the huge burial chambers of Pharaohs. The Valley of the Queens has quite a lot of tombs, where brightly coloured frescoes survived.
