How to get: Angkor Wat

International airport is in nearby city of Siem Reap. Every day there are 5 flights between the capital of Cambodia and Siem Reap. All of them are done by Vietnam Airlines. However, it would be difficult to fly to Phnom Penh from other countries of the world because of small number of flights.

Siem Reap also has convenient air communication with Bangkok. You can get there from any larger city of the world. There are five daily flights between Bangkok and Siem Reap.

As well, there are many daily flights to the two main cities of Vietnam –  Hanoi and Ho Ch Minh. Your visit to Angkor Wat wouldn’t take more than 2-3 days. It is worth combining your trip to Angkor Wat with vacations in Thailand or Vietnam.

Water transport
if you have time, you could get from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap by water, but it would be rather long trip.

There is also bus communication between Siem Reap and Bangkok. Before Cambodia side road was in fairly bad state, but it has been recently repaired, so now a bus ride from one city to the other would be quite comfortable.

The only disadvantage is that buses start from Bangkok in the morning and arrive in Siem Reap in the evening and vice versa, so you'll spend two days on transfer. However, if you have enough time, this variant would be optimal, as the cost of ticket is only 8 US dollars.
