About country: Tanzania

National Parks of Tanzania are the wonder of African wildlife. They have a huge territory and extremely variegated flora and fauna, in addition to their wonderful landscapes. The largest of them are Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Selous. In Tanzania you can also enjoy the view, or even climb, of the highest African peak, Mount Kilimanjaro.

Ngorongoro is one of the best national parks of Tanzania (earlier it was a part of Serengeti). It is often called the Eighth World's Wonder. And though such statements are rather disputable, you should visit this park in any case. The world's largest caldera is also located in the park. Its diameter is 16 km and its depth is 600 meters. Near the crater there are many hotels, which are very convenient for trips to the national reserve. There are many mountains around the crater, including active volcanoes.

Because of its extremely variegated flora and fauna Serengeti Park is considered to be the best safari spot. Twice a year you can watch for migration of huge herds of animals, actually thousands of zebras, antelope, and gazelles, etc. And you'd better do it from some balloon.

In the environs of Serengeti and Ngorongoro there are many other interesting (natural) sites, for example Olduvai Gorge, where there were found the remnants of dinosaurs and ancient people. «Lake Manyara» is also there.

One can also have a good beach vacation on Zanzibar, which isn’t too far off the African continent, opposite Dar es Salaam, the former capital of Tanzania. Though Zanzibar is a fairly large island, most hotels are concentrated in its capital, the city of Zanzibar. There are many old Arabian buildings inside and outside the city. Stone Town is of particular interest. Also, when going to Zanzibar you should remember that there are almost no entertainments on the island.
