About metochion: Patriarchal Metochion

After having been to the Church on Blood you should visit the nearby building of the Patriarchal Metochion housing the Romanov Memorial Museum. Various exhibits and documents related to the last days of the Romanov family and their shooting in the basement of the Ipatiev House are kept at the Romanov Memorial Museum.
You can visit the Romanov Memorial Museum only with a guided excursion. An excursion begins from ascending a small staircase, with walls and vaults covered by religious and historical frescoes.
There are many various photos and pictures of Emperor Nicholas II and his family, as well as their ancestors, in the rooms of the museum. On the stands you can see various evidences of the events, which happened in the night from 16 to 17 July 1918: various things belonging to the princesses, photos, letters of the Ural commissar Voykov with demands for sulfuric acid to cover the traces of the crime.
