In Yekaterinburg there are two places related to the execution of the Roman family in 1918. The first place is the Church on Blood built on the site of the Ipatiev House where the Romanov family were shot. The second place – Ganya`s Pit – is an abandoned pit where the Bolsheviks threw the bodies of the last Emperor and his family.
One of the largest (or maybe the largest) Russian museums of military machinery and vintage cars is in Verkhnyaya Pyshma, a northern suburb of Yekaterinburg. You should include a visit to the museum into a trip to the nearby monastery at the Ganya`s Pit.
Gold Museum in Berezovsky was founded on the same place and was devoted to the same events, which, in the middle of the 18 century, had a great influence on the economy of Russia and predetermined its development for future centuries.
Middle Ural Monastery in Honour of the the Icon of Our Lady «The Grower of Crops» was founded only in 2005 but for this short period it became one of the largest monasteries of the Ural region.
