Africa, the second-largest continent on the earth, has always attracted those tourists who are bored with comfortable resorts of Europe, and would like to see something exciting.

The most visited countries of Africa are in the north – Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco, in the south – RSA and Namibia, and in the center – Kenya and Tanzania, – of the continent. Surely, you can go to any other country but you should know their political situation and security standards.

Surely, Egypt is the indisputable leader by the number of tourists. And it can be easily ex-plained. The country is not far from Europe, so a flight from most European countries won`t be that tiring. It features superb beach resorts where you can bathe even in the winter, when it is already cold at the European resorts. Besides the world`s known resorts such as Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada, there arise new resorts, for example, Makadi, El-Gouna, Marsa Alam, Safaga, and Taba. And, of course, there are also magnificent monuments of ancient Egypt`s civilization: the Pyramids of Giza, Abu-Simbel, Philae Island, and Luxor.

You may have good beach vacations in Tunisia. The main resorts of the country are the city of Monastir and Djerba Island. There are ancient ruins, as well as tourist not a bad infra-structure at these locations. It will be quite interesting to look around the ruins of ancient city Carthage, to see the old amphitheatre of El-Djem, and make a trip to Sahara.

You can have more variegated entertainments in Morocco. The main beach resort of the country, Agadir, is located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, however, because of the cold current the beach season isn’t too long there. Apart from beaches, it will also be interesting to visit Marrakesh and Es-Sueira, former Mogador. You can`t forget a trip to the Erg-Chebbi near Merzouga. There you will see the huge sand dunes of Sahara Desert. By all should you take a camel ride to the nearest oasis. It will take you several hours to get to that oasis.

The Republic of South Africa (RSA) is on the other end of the continent. However, be-cause of its remote location and high local prices, it will take you a pretty penny to spend your vacations in this country. Generally, you start your travel over RSA from Johannesburg and Pretoria. Many tourists go to the RSA for the sake of Sun-City, the gambling capital of the country. Also there are a lot of nature reserves in the RSA, for example, Kruger Park, Blyde River Canyon, and Dragon Mountain. Beach zones are in the neighbourhood of Durban, but you must remember that the ocean water won`t be always warm, and the current may be fair-ly strong.

If you want to see the famous Victoria Falls, you can most easily get to it just from the RSA. The waterfall is on the river Zambezi, on the borders of Zambia and Zimbabwe. Both countries aren’t very suitable for a long stay, however, you should see the Victoria Falls, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world.

The northern neighbor of the RSA, Namibia, is visited by the increasing number of tourists year after year. Namib Desert is the most interesting sight of the country. It is represented by the boundless spaces of sand dunes stretching until the horizon, and the dunes of this desert are the tallest in the world. You can`t see such dunes even in Sahara. Besides the desert, you can enjoy the wild nature at the Etosha National Park, one of the biggest nature reserves on the territory of Africa.

Finally, if you want to see more of the wild nature of Africa, you should go to the African savannah – the place where millions of wild beasts abide in their natural habitat. There are a great number of various parks and reserves in different countries of Africa, but the biggest and most populated ones are just in Kenya and Tanzania.

Kenya is to the north of Tanzania. There located the Masai-Mara National Park in Kenya. Serengeti National Park located on the territory of Tanzania is considered to be its continuation. Ngoro Ngoro National Park had long been an integral part of Serengeti, but in 1959 it was decided to make it a separate park. Thus, on the territory of these countries there was created a single ecosystem covering about 45 000 square kilometers. The tallest peak in Africa, Kilimanjaro Mount, is also on the territory of Tanzania.
