The famous rosary of Bern, the Rosengarten Park, is located on a high hill above the Old Town. You should definitely come here to admire the roses of various varieties, as well as the magnificent views of the town that open from the observation decks of Rosengarten.

For centuries, this place was outside the town walls. For a while, there was even a necropolis, but the authorities of Bern decided to put up a Park so that people could come here and admire the views of the Old Town of Bern.

In 1913, a beautiful garden with paths, fountains and pavilions was created on this place. On the edge of the hill, near the observation deck, there is a popular restaurant Rosengarten, which is considered one of the best in the town.

More than 200 varieties of roses, about 200 varieties of irises and more than three dozen species of rhododendrons are grown in Rosengarten Park. There are very rare varieties of roses, and they bloom from June to autumn. A visit to this place will be a great addition to a walk through the historical sights of Bern.
