23.06.2011 Sale of 20-euro railway tickets has begun in France

According to reports of Geo Meridian portal, on June, 20, 2011 the French national railroad company announced advance sale of cheap tickets for high speed trains (iDTGV service), for the period from September, 15 through December, 7 of the current year.

The price of the tickets is starting from 19 euros. For this sum you can get to from Paris to Nice, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Perpignan, Biarritz, Strasbourg, Mulhouse, Lyons, and Brest. Generally, the price of these tickets is twice or thrice as much.

It should be noted that you can acquire the tickets only via Internet. Passengers will have to print out the tickets for themselves.
You can only return such tickets if you exchange if for another run of the same company. Also, you will have to pay the fine of 10 euros, in addition to the price of the new ticket.

The company is going to restrict the number of trains by 1 or 2 runs per day.
