23.09.2011 Visa issue changes have been cancelled in Egypt

The authorities decided to cancel their decision on changing the visa issue rules, reports Geo Meridian portal.

The new rules applied to the tourists who didn’t use the services of travel agencies. Before all tourists could receive visas at any check point. According to these new rules, it was intended to issue visas only to the tourists travelling with groups at the airports.

But, in opinion of Egyptian tour operators, this measure could result in decrease of tourist traffic, and cause a serious damage to the national economy. So, it was almost immediately cancelled, and now all tourists can again receive visas at the airports.

Remember, tourism is one of the main sources of national income in Egypt, and annually the country is visited by about 13 million tourists.
