10.07.2012 Underwater Archaeology Museum will be opened in Novgorod the Great

Underwater Archaeology Museum will be opened in Novgorod the Great in September of 2012, reports Geo Meridian portal.

The exposition includes the unique findings of underwater archaeologists, made by them during the excavations on the bottom of the Volkhov, including church utensils, decorations, coins and many other ancient things. The main purpose of the excavations was to find the remains of the Great Bridge, which allegedly connected Novgorod Kremlin with Yaroslavovo Dvorishche. The museum will occupy the rooms of one of the buildings of Novgorod State Museum Reserve.
