09.08.2012 First underwater museum will be opened in Kenya

The first in Africa underwater museum will be opened on the territory of Malindi Marine National Park in Kenya in 2014, reports Geo Meridian portal.

This underwater museum will be dedicated to the life of sea fauna, such as turtles, whale sharks and dolphins.

Also, the museum will offer excursions to the sites of shipwrecks. There were drowned about 35 vessels from Portugal, Great Britain, Germany and India in this area. Almost half of the vessels have been there for over a century ago. They are the Highland Lassie and Hamad and Sussex, drowned in 1879 and 1909, respectively. All the sites were carefully explored and outfitted with cameras, so you won't need to submerge to see the ships.
