25.01.2013 Free skating rink on the Red Square

Moscow students can go skating for free at the heart of Russian capital, reports Geo Meridian portal.

Today, January, 25, at the GUM skating rink located on the Red Square, there will take place an event devoted to the Student Day, better known as Tatiana Day. The festivities will begin at midday and will last almost to midnight.

Besides the greetings of the representatives of Moscow government, rectors of universities and institutes, as well as cultural and science workers, and businessmen, Families and Youth Policy Department of Moscow prepared special presents for all participants of the holiday agenda.

The Red Square is one of the main sights of Moscow. Moscow Kremlin is also located on this famous square, which is associated by foreigners with the Soviet and now Russian government. There are also many other interesting sights, both secular and religious, on the Red Square and within the Kremlin, such as a great number of various churches and cathedrals and museums. They include the famous St. Basils Cathedral, Armoury Chamber, Diamond Fund, and the Great Kremlin Palace, which is today the main residence of the President of Russian Federation.
