Nizhny Novgorod is located in a place where two large rivers, the Volga and Oka, merge into one. The confluence of the Oka is a city landmark, and there are many interesting places around it. On the low embankment of the Volga river is the district Zaipochaine. Above it, on a high ridge of hills passes the Embankment of Fedorovsky. On the opposite Bank is the territory of the Nizhny Novgorod fair, as well as the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.
