The excursion to the Blue Abyss and to the Sail Rock is one of the most popular in Gelendzhik. You will see here the most beautiful marl layered rocks, and the Sail Rock can be called a unique attraction of the Black Sea. These places can be chosen not just as a goal for an excursion, but also just for day trips here from Gelendzhik to relax on the beach among the wildlife.
There are three places on this route:
1. Divnomorskoe resort
2. The Blue Abyss in Jankhot
3. Sail Rock in Praskoveyevka
If you want to visit all three places, then you need to leave Gelendzhik as early as possible. Divnomorskoe can simply be visited on the way back, as it is just a small resort village. There you can relax on the beach, but the Abyss and the Sail are beautiful natural attractions.
1. The distance from Gelendzhik to Divnomorskoye is only 10 kilometers. The main tourist infrastructure of Divnomorskoye is located within one street, embankment and beach. Tourists who love the resort atmosphere of a small village come to Divnomorsk beach. Gelendzhik, despite the very comfortable infrastructure, is still a city. The beaches in Divnomorskoye are pebbly, however, the pebbles here are flat, so it is quite comfortable to lie on it. The water here is very clean.
2. The distance from Divnomorskoe to the Blue Abyss is 5 kilometers. The Big Blue is a rocky coast of the Black sea, completely overgrown with relict pines. The height of the cliff exceeds 100 meters, but you can approach it and admire the waters of the Black sea. In some places, they are azure, in others blue. The trunks of pitsund’s pines lean over the cliff. The air is very clean and the whole place is very romantic.
3. From the Blue Abyss, go further to the Village of Praskoveyevka. It is 15 kilometers away from the Blue Abyss. The Sail rock stands perpendicular to the seashore. From the water it is clearly visible that it is part of the coastal mountain, which consists of layers of dense yellow marl. The relief of the rock where the Sail broke off is very beautiful. In some places, the layers of rock look like dragon tails descending to the sea. There are parking near Praskoveevka beach. Park the car there and walk along the beach 600 meters. At the beginning of the trail there is a stone blockage, where it is better to have comfortable hiking shoes.
