This route will be interesting for those who are interested in art, and in 1 day would like to see three of the most famous art museums in Moscow: the Tretyakov Gallery, the New Tretyakov Gallery and the Pushkin Museum.

Start your route with a visit to the Pushkin Museum. This museum is divided into two parts. In one of them you can see copies of many famous sculptures, as well as archaeological artifacts, including those found at the site of ancient Troy. The most interesting is the magnificent collection of the Pushkin Museum of Art of the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist periods.

After leaving the Pushkin Museum, cross the road to the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. It was built in honor of the victory over Napoleon in 1812. This is the largest cathedral in Russia. Go inside and see some examples of Russian icon painting, then cross the Moskva River on the pedestrian bridge to Balchug Island. Take a walk along its embankment to the Tretyakov Gallery.

The Tretyakov Gallery is of great interest to anyone interested in Russian painting of the 17th and 19th centuries. Plan to visit the Tretyakov Gallery for 2-3 hours.

After visiting the Tretyakov Gallery, go along the embankment of the Moskva River to the New Tretyakov Gallery. It is located in the Muzeon Park. This park is also called the Fallen Monument Park. Here you will see the monuments of the Soviet era, including the monument to Stalin.

The New Tretyakov Gallery has a huge collection of Russian paintings from the 20th and 21st centuries. Here you can see the works of many representatives of the Russian avant-garde.
