Vyborg is located 140 kilometers from St. Petersburg. The tour to this city will take a whole day. Be sure to visit Vyborg Castle and Monrepos Park, as well as take a walk in the historical center of the city.
Leave St. Petersburg and follow the Scandinavia highway towards the Finnish border. The historical center of Vyborg preserved the appearance of a Finnish city when it became part of independent Finland after the 1918 Revolution.
The main attraction of Vyborg is the Vyborg Castle, built by the Swedes in 1293. It is located on Castle Island. Take a walk around the castle and be sure to climb the Olaf Tower to see the old town of Vyborg from above.
After visiting the castle, go for a walk in the historic city center. It has preserved the Scandinavian architecture of the 19th century. Then go to the Monrepos Park. Take a walk along its paths among the Karelian rocks. In many places, pavilions have been built, which greatly adorn the natural scenery.
