The main attraction of Gelendzhik is the longest sea embankment in Russia, as well as beautiful beaches. Usually it is easier to create a resort atmosphere in small villages by the sea, but Gelendzhik is a fairly large city. However, the beaches and resort infrastructure are developed at a very high level. Guests of the city like to walk along the Gelendzhik embankment in the evenings.

In this route we offer to visit the most interesting sights on the Gelendzhik Embankment:

1. In the morning, come to the Central beach of Gelendzhik. It is located in the southeastern part of the bay. After swimming, go for a walk along the embankment. Near the beach you will see the main square with a stage where various shows are held in the evenings. A sculpture of the White Bride is installed on the square.

2. Opposite the square there is a small Pervomaisky Square. Take a picture near the sculpture composition Gelendzhik. Go deep into Pervomaisky Square and turn right to the Ascension Church.

3. See the Ascension Church. It is located in a park area near Pervomaisky Square. This is the Cathedral of Gelendzhik. After that, go back to the embankment and go further north.

4. 200 meters from the square you will see the Local History Museum. It consists of 5 halls: Nature, Archeology, Old Gelendzhik, Adyghe Antiquities, In the Name of Victory. Of particular interest are the finds of archaeological expeditions that were carried out at the site of ancient settlements on the Black Sea coast.

5. The adjacent building with the Museum is the Gelendzhik Aquarium. It is relatively small. Its territory is 400 m2. On the ground floor there are aquariums with marine and freshwater fish. There are also tropical fish here, but they are not all big.

6. After visiting all the main attractions on the embankment, then you can just enjoy a walk along the Embankment. Go to the monument to Lermontov and the fountain. Here begins the most well-maintained part of the Gelendzhik embankment, with a shady alley and pavilions.
