The beaches of Zelenogradsk stretch for several kilometers along the entire village. They are covered with fine sand and there is a gentle entrance to the sea. Zelenogradsk became the first Prussian resort in the Baltic thanks to these beaches. The village is located closest to Kaliningrad, so residents from the central districts of the Kaliningrad region most often come here to the sea.

The entire coastal strip in the vicinity of Zelenogradsk is covered with sandy beaches. The Curonian Spit begins on the northeastern side of the resort. There are sandy beaches stretching for several tens of kilometers. However, Dr. Friedrich Kassel, who was involved in the creation of resorts on the Baltic coast of Prussia, noted that in the area of Kranz the strongest impact of the waves on the embankment. Due to this, the air is saturated with useful properties.

There are three beaches in Zelenogradsk. The most visited is the Central Beach. It is located in the central part of the city. A powerful concrete structure of the Zelenogradsk Embankment has been built above it, which rises two dozen meters above the beach. Given the strong impact of the waves, a lot of breakwaters were made here in the 19th century from larch trunks. The width of the Central beach is about 30 meters.

The most convenient beach for swimming is located on the Western outskirts of Zelenogradsk. That`s what it`s called: "West Beach". There is a pedestrian promenade, as well as a bicycle path. The distance from the Queen Louise Pump Room (city center) to the beach is 2 kilometers. It is relatively far away for walking, but by bike you can get there in a few minutes.

The Western beach is the widest beach in Zelenogradsk. Its width in some places reaches 70 meters and further sand dunes rise above it. If there is a strong wind, then you can hide from it among these dunes. There are also larch breakwaters on the western beach, but the distances between them are much greater than on the Central Beach.

Frying Pan Beach is located on the east side of Zelenogradsk. This name appeared in the 19th century. Frying pans are secluded places in the sand dunes at the base of the Curonian Spit, which are strongly warmed up in the sun and protected from the Baltic wind. Thanks to this, people can sunbathe from the beginning of May until late autumn, even if the water in the Baltic Sea is cold. In Zelenogradsk, Frying Pan Beach is located near the Grand Monopole Hotel. Zelenogradsk City Park stretches along the south side of the beach.
