Lower Oludeniz, which is also called Coastal Oludeniz, is a small but very cozy resort part of the famous Turkish coast. Unlike its "twin" — Upper Oludeniz, spread out on the mountain plateau in the areas of Hisaronu and Ovacik, this town is located directly by the sea, wedged between the majestic mountain slopes.

Low-rise buildings, the absence of tall concrete structures, and strict construction restrictions in effect in this nature protection zone allow guests of the resort to enjoy precisely those views that made Oludeniz famous throughout the world — views where azure water meets green mountain slopes, and dozens of colorful paragliders soar in the sky.

Hotels of Lower Oludeniz

Lower Oludeniz offers a wide selection of hotels catering to a variety of tastes and budgets. The main advantage of the local hotels is their location: almost all of them are within a few minutes` walk from Belcekiz Beach, the main swimming area of the town.

One of the popular options is the Tonoz Beach Hotel, located just 50 meters from the beach. This hotel is renowned for its outdoor pool with a sun terrace and free Wi-Fi. Guests particularly note the excellent breakfast, which is confirmed by high ratings from visitors.

The modern Blue Star Hotel attracts guests with its new, stylishly decorated rooms and excellent location. Cleanliness, friendly staff, and a quality breakfast make this hotel one of the favorite places to stay.

The family-run Unsal Hotel, located just a two-minute walk from the beach, also receives high marks. Guests note its cozy atmosphere and excellent service, calling the hotel "lovely" and very comfortable for staying.

This is an ideal option for a family holiday on an all-inclusive basis.

Belcekiz Beach in Lower Oludeniz

Belcekiz Beach is the central and longest beach of Lower Oludeniz, stretching for almost one and a half kilometers along the coast. Contrary to expectations, it is not sandy in the classical sense: the shore is covered with a mixture of coarse sand and fine pebbles. In the eastern part, there are sandy sections, but overall the beach is more accurately called pebble.

The entrance to the sea here is shallow, the depth increases gradually. The water is distinguished by amazing transparency and a rich turquoise hue, for which the beach has been awarded the international "Blue Flag" award. During the day, waves often rise, which attracts lovers of active swimming but can cause inconvenience for small children.

The beach infrastructure is excellently developed: along its entire length, there are rental points for sunbeds and umbrellas, and there are free freshwater showers, toilets, and changing rooms.

Unique Promenade in Lower Oludeniz: The Paraglider Landing Strip

One of the most amazing features of Lower Oludeniz is that there is no traditional embankment here in the form that tourists are accustomed to in Bodrum, Kemer, or Antalya. You will not find here a high parapet separating the beach from the promenade, or a long pedestrian zone with benches.

Instead, a wide strip stretches along the beach, serving two functions at once. On one hand, it is a pedestrian promenade, lined with numerous restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops that stay open late. On the other hand, this strip serves as the official landing site for paragliders descending from Mount Babadag.

It is here, right before the eyes of vacationers, that the magic happens: dozens of colorful canopies, one after another, gently touch the ground. Thus, the promenade in Lower Oludeniz is not just a walking area. Here you can sit in a cozy cafe, sip a refreshing drink, and watch athletes soaring in the sky, only to then land just a few meters from your table.

Despite its compactness, Lower Oludeniz offers many opportunities for recreation. In the central part of the beach, there is a pier from which sightseeing yachts and boats depart daily for boat excursions to Butterfly Valley, St. Nicholas Island, and other picturesque locations. In the evening, life in the town does not quiet down. Numerous restaurants along the promenade offer dishes of both international and traditional Turkish cuisine.
