Egyptian culture is widely known in Europe. Ancient Egypt was located on the African continent, however, a huge number of its artistic masterpieces were moved to Europe, and now are presented in many major European museums. Egyptian culture has made a huge contribution to the development of the entire world civilization. Its active study began in the 19th century. After the campaign of Napoleon, a large number of archaeological expeditions were organized. They took part in the excavations of ancient cities and some necropolis in Egypt. A significant number of artifacts were moved to Europe from temple complexes. However, what has been preserved in Egypt is very impressive.

Egyptian culture is represented not only by preserved burial complexes. The Egyptian script is the oldest in the world. It appeared in the 4th thd years BC. The fine art of Ancient Egypt is also of great interest. The principles of the image were developed at the beginning of the Egyptian civilization and then improved all the time. On the walls of temples and tombs, we can see texts in the ancient Egyptian language and paintings.

The greatest interest for all who want to get acquainted with the Egyptian culture is the city of Luxor. The Greeks called it Thebes. The left Bank of the Nile in this city was called the City of the Living. There you can see the two largest temples-the Karnak temple and the Luxor temple. The right Bank was called the City of the Dead. There is the famous Valley of the Kings, where many tombs of the pharaohs have been found, including the Tomb of King Tutankhamun. In addition, on this Bank you need to visit the temples of Hatshepsut, Medinet Abu, Ramesseum, Colossi of Memnon.

Naturally, the symbol of Egyptian culture is the Pyramids at Giza and the Sphinx. Several interesting temples are located in the very South of Egypt. Abu Simbel-the famous temple of the great Pharaoh Ramses II. In Aswan, there is a temple on the island of Philae, and if you sail in ship cruise along the Nile to Luxor, you can see the temples of Kom-Ombo and Edfu.
