The entire resort life of the city is concentrated on the Embankment of Alushta. It is one of the largest embankments among all resorts of the Crimea. The embankment begins near the Demerdzhi River and stretches 4 kilometers south to Cape Lighthouse. Along the entire length of the Embankment, among the breakwaters, there are beach areas of Alushta

The general area of the Embankment in Alushta is divided into two parts: the Central Embankment and the Eastern Embankment (Lenin Street). The strengthening of the shore and the construction of the embankment of Alushta began in the early 20th century. During the WWII, Alushta was a transport hub that connected the steppe Crimea with the coast. During the fighting, the embankment of Alushta was damaged.

In Soviet times, Alushta became a popular resort, so in 1952 the embankment of the city was redeveloped. In the same year, the famous rotunda of Alushta was built. The pedestrian promenade on the embankment has been expanded.

The most interesting part of the Embankment of Alushta is located on the Eastern Embankment, where Lenin Street runs. It starts near the Demerdzhi River. On the opposite bank of the river there is a small mountain and the buildings of the Blue Wave hotel. In this place, the Seaside Park and the merchant Stakhevich`s dacha, surrounded by a public garden, border the Embankment. Huge pine trees rise above the pedestrian zone of the embankment. This part of the embankment ends near the square with the sculpture of a Seahorse.

Further south, beyond the bed of the small Ulu-Uzen River, a long Central embankment stretches. It is not very wide, but there are also cafes and various hotels. The beaches are divided into small zones by numerous breakwaters.
