This sculptural composition was erected in honor of the ancient inhabitants of the city from the Slavic tribe of Radimichi and symbolizes the connection between past and present.
Near the embankment is the Swan Pond, a cozy artificial reservoir created in a deep ravine. Once, the Gomenyuk stream, which gave the city of Gomel its name, flowed here, but it dried up several centuries ago. In the mid-20th century, an artificial pond was created here.
