Frunze Park is one of the most popular recreational spots in Vitebsk. It stretches along the banks of the Vitba River near the Old Town of Vitebsk. This picturesque green area is named after the Soviet military leader Mikhail Frunze. People come here to stroll along the winding course of the Vitba River or to exercise on the sports grounds.

Frunze Park was established in the 1920s on the site of the former Bishop`s Garden, which had existed here since the 19th century. During the Soviet era, the park became an important leisure destination for both residents and visitors of the city. In the post-war years, all wooden houses on its territory were demolished, and the park was significantly improved. Today, it covers an area of 15 hectares.

Frunze Park features a landscape layout. The course of the Vitba River lies in a valley significantly lower than the hills that rise above the river in this area. As a result, from the Botanical Garden to Kstovskaya Hill, visitors can only walk along the paths laid out along the riverbanks.

Kstovskaya Hill overlooks the spot where the Vitba River makes a sharp bend before flowing into the Western Dvina River. This is where the river valley is at its deepest. In 1976, a pedestrian bridge was built over this area. Today, it is known as the Bridge of the 1000th Anniversary of Vitebsk. This bridge connects Town Hall Square with Kstovskaya Hill, where the Concert Hall "Vitebsk" was constructed in 1988.

From the bridge, there is a beautiful view of Frunze Park. Staircases allow visitors to descend to the river below, where gazebos and benches provide a peaceful retreat among the trees. Tourists and locals alike enjoy coming here to experience the contrast—on one side of the bridge lies Town Hall Square, the bustling center of the Old Town, while in Frunze Park, down in the valley, there is tranquility and solitude amidst stunning natural scenery.
