Koh Hong Island is one of the most picturesque islands in Krabi Province, located just 30 minutes by boat from the popular resort town of Ao Nang. This place is famous for its crystal-clear waters, powdery white beaches, and majestic limestone cliffs, creating an atmosphere of secluded tropical paradise.

The island`s main beach is a narrow strip of soft white sand, surrounded by towering limestone cliffs covered in lush greenery. The beach is about 500 meters long and it makes an indelible impression on all tourists.

Why is this beach considered one of the most beautiful?
• Turquoise water – Due to shallow depths and pristine sand, the sea here has mesmerizing shades of blue.
• Cliff-framed scenery – The landscape resembles a hidden lagoon, sheltered from winds.
• Tranquility – Although the island is popular, it doesn’t get as crowded as Phi Phi. Even when many boats arrive, tourists spread out across the spacious beach, so it never feels overcrowded.

How to Get to Koh Hong?
• Traditional longtail boat – Available for rent in Ao Nang or Railay Beach. The journey takes about 50 minutes, depending on sea conditions.
• Group speedboat tour – Many tours include Koh Hong along with nearby islands like La Ladin and Pakbia. The trip takes no more than 30 minutes.

One of the island’s most fascinating attractions is its inner lagoon, enclosed by towering cliffs. It can only be accessed during high tide through a narrow passage. Inside, you’ll find emerald-green water and absolute serenity.

A steep but rewarding climb (about 15–20 minutes up a staircase) leads to a breathtaking 360° viewpoint. From the top, you’ll see panoramic views of the Andaman Sea and countless rocky islands dotting the horizon.

Besides the viewpoint, Koh Hong has a jungle trail that winds through tropical forests and along the base of cliffs. The hike takes 30–40 minutes, but wear sturdy shoes—some sections are rocky and uneven.

Koh Hong is the ideal escape for those seeking pristine nature in Krabi. With its idyllic beach, mysterious lagoon, dramatic cliffs, and secluded trails, it offers everything needed for a true tropical paradise experience.
