Kyzyl-Su waterfall in Dzhily-Su sight

The Kyzyl-Su waterfall is one of the most powerful waterfalls in the Dzhily-Su nature sight. It is located 400 meters from the house of the President of Karachay-Cherkessia. It can be seen only from the upper viewing points or from the slope of the mountain, which is located opposite. The Malka River falls into a deep gorge with a powerful waterfall and it is impossible to approach it from below. 

The height of the Kyzyl-Su waterfall reaches 20 meters. The Malka River breaks down from the mountainside into a closed circus. Then the Malka River flows into a wide mountain valley. Translated from the Turkic Kyzyl-Su means Red Water. The waterfall flows from the gorge of the white rock, but the lower part of the circus, where the waterfall falls, has a red-purple color.

The color of the waterfall`s water changes throughout the year, as well as at Sultan Waterfall and Karakaya-Su Waterfall. In summer, the water of the Kyzyl-Su waterfall has a cloudy gray color, and in spring and autumn the water of the waterfall is transparent. This is due to in summer the glaciers of Elbrus begin to actively melt, and there is a lot of clay and sedimentary rocks, which makes the local rivers muddy.
