Literary Museum of Leo Tolstoy in Astapovo

In 2010, a new literary Museum of Leo Tolstoy dedicated to the works of the great Russian writer was built next to the water towers of Astapovo station. The exhibition is called "Astapovo Meridian. On the threshold of eternity...".

The Leo Tolstoy literary Museum in Astapovo was opened on the centenary of the great Russian writer`s death. Here you can see the main exhibition dedicated to all stages of Leo Tolstoy`s work. The Tolstoy cultural and educational center is also open here, and regular exhibitions are held.

In the Museum you can see photos and manuscripts of Leo Tolstoy, as well as many materials related to his religious teachings, because of which he decided to leave Yasnaya Polyana estate and begin to wander around Russia.
