The Living Lake is located in the gorge of the Kullumkol River at an altitude of 3240 m above sea level. A small lake with emerald-colored water is sandwiched between the moraines of two glaciers. Followers of esoteric teachings believe that bathing in it gives a person strength and fills with energy. In their opinion, the Living Lake is a Place of Power not only of the Elbrus National Park, but also of the entire Caucasus.

The hike to the Living Lake is the second most popular route after the Glade of Desires at the foot of Ullu-Tau Mountain. People come to the Glade of Desires to ask Mother-Mountain for the fulfillment of their innermost desires, and they swim in a Living Lake to receive the energy of the Universe.

The Living Lake and the Dead Lake are located in the upper reaches of the Kullumkol River gorge. People who believe in the power and energy of these lakes believe that first you need to swim in a Dead Lake, which will take away all negative energy from a person, and then climb to a Living Lake and plunge into its waters to get new energy of the Universe.

The Dead Lake is located at the foot of one of the tongues of the Yunom Glacier. The water is dirty enough, so swimming in it is at your discretion. The distance from the Dead Lake to the Living Lake is 1.3 kilometers, with a climb of 200 meters.

The Living Lake is sandwiched between two large moraines of glaciers. The emerald-colored water contrasts beautifully with rocks. The lake is constantly filled with water from glaciers, and the water in it is much warmer than ordinary glacial lakes.

In winter and spring, it is covered with ice, but in summer the Living Lake can warm up to 15 degrees. Therefore, many people after a long claiming are happy to bathe in it. And if you imagine that a Living Lake fills the body with energy, then such bathing is doubly pleasant.
