The waterfront of the Olkhovka river stretches from the Narzan galleries to the Pushkin monument, where most of the terrainkurs originate used by the vacationers to go up to the Resort Park. Actually, the bed of Olkhovka river with a small waterfront is the center of the Lower Resort Park, which was created in the 19 century.
The monumental buildings, which became the main attractions of Kislovodsk, are in this place. The colonnade, which was built as a front entrance to the Resort Park by the hundredth anniversary of the victory over Napoleon in 1912, is near the Narzan Gallery.
Further on, on the opposite side of the promenade you can see the Lermontov site. In the 19 century there were a big staircase leading up to the well-reputed restaurant of Kislovodsk and the well-known Rebrov House on the site. Pushkin, Lermontov and many other prominent people often stayed at the Rebrov House. Later, only a big staircase was left of the restaurant, where the bas-relief of Lermontov was installed, as well as the Demon Grotto under the staircase.
You can also have a walk on the Terrainkur #1 running along the bed of the Olkhovka river. There are always a lot of parents with children and water-drinkers who don’t want to go up towards the Rose Valley park and the Red Sun mountain. The end point of this easiest Terrainkur #1 is near the Ladies` Caprice bridge and another Lermontov monument.
