    Pyramid of Menkaure

    Pyramids of Giza, Cairo, Egypt

The Pyramid of Menkaure was built by the last great pharaoh of the 4th Dynasty, Menkaure (Greek: Mycerinus). He reigned from approximately 2532 to 2503 BC, inheriting the throne after his father, Khafre. While the pyramids of his predecessors—Khufu and Khafre—were demonstrations of absolute, almost incomprehensible power, Menkaure`s project reflects a change in the era and, perhaps, in economic or ideological realities.
