Back

Siloso Beach is more than just a strip of sand by the ocean. It`s the most vibrant shoreline in Singapore, where the energy of a beach party meets echoes of World War II. If Palawan is for families and Tanjong is for seclusion, then Siloso is the place where the music never stops and the celebration never ends.

Infrastructure: Everything for the Perfect Day and a Fun Night

Siloso is undoubtedly the most developed beach on Sentosa in terms of infrastructure. Everything here is dedicated to active recreation and entertainment:

Beach Clubs and Bars: Establishments like Tanjong Beach Club (located on Siloso) and Café del Mar set the tone. These are full-scale complexes with pools, sun loungers, powerful sound systems, and menus by chefs. By day, they host relaxed sundowners; by evening, the area transforms into a venue for DJs and dancing barefoot in the sand.
Restaurants and Cafés: Besides the clubs, a string of more casual cafés, pubs, and restaurants lines the promenade, offering everything from fresh seafood and pizza to traditional Singaporean dishes.
Water Activities: This is the main water sports center on the island. Guests can enjoy banana boat and doughnut rides, wakeboarding, kayaking, water-skiing, and even rent transparent canoes.

The Cable Car Over the Beach

One of the most exciting features of Siloso is how you get there. The Singapore Cable Car, launched in 1974, doesn`t just connect the island to the mainland—it glides directly over the beach.

View from Above: As the cabins ascend to the "Siloso Point" station, they hover slowly above the beach strip, revealing a stunning panorama: a turquoise lagoon, vibrant sun loungers, people playing volleyball, and the endless ocean on the horizon.
Night Illumination: In the evening, the cable cars are illuminated, creating a fantastic spectacle—moving lights above the lit-up beach clubs and the dark waters of the strait.
Direct Access: A dedicated bridge leads from the cable car station down to the beach, so you literally "land" right in the heart of the action.

Fort Siloso: The Silent Guardian Over the Party

This is where the most striking contrast occurs. While carefree fun reigns on the sand below, the hill behind the beach is home to Fort Siloso—a reminder of a completely different past.
History on the Cliff: This is Singapore`s only preserved and restored coastal fort. Built by the British to protect the harbour, it became the site of fierce battles with Japanese troops in 1942.
What to See: Today, it`s an interactive open-air museum. You can walk through underground casemate tunnels, see original coastal guns pointing out to sea, and explore exhibitions about the lives of soldiers and the tragic events of the war.

How Siloso Differs from Other Sentosa Beaches

From Palawan: Palawan is for calm family picnics and curious attractions (suspension bridge, Southernmost Point of Asia). Siloso is for adrenaline, loud music, and socializing.

From Tanjong: Tanjong is an elite, peaceful retreat for those seeking seclusion and luxury. Siloso is democratic, noisy, and open to everyone.

Siloso Beach is a place where you can spend the entire day, starting with a fort tour, continuing with water sports, and ending the night on an open-air dance floor. It is the dynamic, multifaceted, and never-sleeping heart of Sentosa`s resort life.
