The building of the Balneological complex Source No. 6 was built in the 1950s in the center of Tskaltubo Park. This source is called Stalin`s, since Joseph Stalin came here for treatment in the 1930s. From that moment, the construction of the largest balneological resort of the Soviet Union began in Tskaltubo.
On the square in front of the spring No. 6 there is a fountain based on the poem’s Plot by Shota Rustaveli «Knight in Tiger Skin». A bas-relief of Stalin surrounded by ordinary people who came to Tskaltubo for treatment is preserved on the facade. The interior of spring No. 6 is built in the architectural style of the Stalinist Empire, but its infrastructure has been completely modernized.
In the side wings of the spring No. 6, you can take hot tubs with radon water, as well as carry out various therapeutic procedures, massages, inhalations, etc. In the central part of the building, there is a large pool with radon water.
The mineral radon water of Tskaltubo comes to the surface of the earth from sources with a constant temperature of about 35 °. It is very comfortable for taking baths. Its supply to the bathrooms is carried out constantly, so running water retains all its medicinal properties. In the Springs of Tbilisi Abanotubani, sulfur water comes to the surface with different temperatures. In summer, its temperature can exceed 40-50 °, and this complicates taking baths. There is no such problem in Tskaltubo.
