Upper Arkhyz and Moon Glade are the place where the ski lifts to the skiing areas are located. In the Upper Arkhyz, you can climb the Southern and Northern slopes. The lifts also work in summer, allowing tourists to climb to the mountainous areas of Arkhyz to admire the beautiful scenery.
Since 2022, a large number of hotels are being built in Upper Arkhyz, which will create the atmosphere of an Alpine resort. Among them there are restaurants and bars, pedestrian areas and places for entertainment. Previously, most of the hotels were located in the village of Arkhyz.
The lift ascends the northern slope in three stages. The lower part of the lift is called the Northern Lights. On it you can climb to a height of 2339 meters. From the upper station there is a path to Mount Smirnov. It goes with a small climb of 180 meters, so the walk is not difficult even for children.
From Mount Smirnov, you can climb even higher on the Soyuz lift, and then even higher on the Apollo lift. Its upper station is located on the Gabulu Ridge, at an altitude of 2839 meters.
The southern slope can be reached in winter by four lifts. The Milky Way and Sputnik lifts are located in the Upper Arkhyz. They work all year round. There are two more ski lift stations a kilometer away on Moon Glade. They are called the Green Planet and the Lunar Express. These ski lifts work only in winter. In summer, on the southern slope, you can walk along the Fedoseyev Pass.
If you climb to the upper stations of the lifts on both slopes, then from there you will see very beautiful views of the Caucasus Mountains, including the peaks of the Great Caucasian Ridge. There are small walking paths around the upper stations to walk around the neighborhood.
