The Valley of Megaliths is located on the picturesque bank of the Beautiful Mecha river. Next to it is the village of Krasnogorskoe. Three kilometers down the river is another natural attraction - the Horse-Stone megalith. If you come to these parts, then you need to visit both places.
In the Valley of Megaliths, you can see a large number of boulders made of granite and quartz Sandstone. Under the influence of water, such stones formed grooves in the form of bowls and even narrow deep holes. The stones themselves have a very bizarre shape due to weathering. In some stones, the cavities are so large that they can fit a person. Inside, some stones have a reddish hue.
Some of them are similar to various figures, therefore the stones in the Valley of Megaliths are often called "Witch stones". By the way, the village Krasnogorskoe used to be called Witch. The stones in the Valley of Megaliths in the Tula region are very similar in structure to the stones in the Devil`s Hillfort near Kaluga. There, the stones also have bizarre shapes and holes.
