    Victoria Peak Tram

    Hong Kong, Central-South China, China

The Peak Tram is not an ordinary tram but a funicular railway that opened on May 30, 1888. It was the first of its kind in Asia and remains one of the oldest in the world. Originally built for British colonial officials living atop Victoria Peak, where the climate was cooler than in the stuffy city center below, the tram quickly became an iconic attraction.
