Victory Square in Vitebsk is the largest square in Belarus, measuring 380 meters by 190 meters. It appeared at the end of the 19th century, but at that time, it was located on the outskirts of the city. Initially, it was called Puteynaya, then Orshanskaya, and later Cherniakhovsky Square.

The architectural composition of Victory Square in Vitebsk was created in 1974 to mark the 30th anniversary of the liberation of Vitebsk from Nazi invaders. It became a symbol of victory and a memorial to those who gave their lives for freedom and independence. The square is located in the city center, next to the Park of Victors, making it part of a larger memorial complex.

The central element of the square is the monument "To the Liberators of Vitebsk Region," which was unveiled in 1974. This monument has become one of the most recognizable symbols of Vitebsk. The monument consists of three tall bayonets reaching into the sky. Each bayonet is 56 meters high, making them visible from afar. The three bayonets symbolize the unity of the three forces that liberated the Vitebsk region: the army, partisans, and civilians.

At the base of the monument, there is a sculptural composition depicting soldiers, partisans, and residents of Vitebsk who fought together to liberate their homeland. Next to the monument, the Eternal Flame burns in memory of the fallen soldiers.

Surrounding the square are buildings designed in the Soviet architectural style, which harmoniously complement the memorial complex. The square also features memorial plaques with the names of heroes who died during the war. From Lenin Street to the monument, two 85-meter-long pools stretch, framing the central alley leading to the "To the Liberators of Vitebsk Region" monument.

Victory Square hosts solemn events dedicated to Victory Day, the Liberation of Vitebsk, and other memorable dates. On such days, the square becomes the center of city life, where veterans, youth, and residents gather to honor the memory of the heroes.

Victory Square is located in the center of Vitebsk, at the intersection of Kalinin and Lenin Streets. It is within walking distance of the Old Town`s attractions, such as Town Hall Square and the Assumption Cathedral.
