The Yerevan History Museum is located on Argishti Street in the Yerevan City Hall. In the four halls of the museum you can see exhibits related to the history of Yerevan from ancient times to the present day. Despite the small size of the museum, you can see thousands exhibits here.

The Yerevan History Museum was founded in 1931, and for a long time its collections were housed in various buildings of the city. It was only in 2005 that the final decision was made to place the museum`s exposition in the Yerevan Municipality.

Yerevan is one of the oldest cities in Armenia. In 781 BC, the fortress of Erebuni was founded, around which the city of Yerevan was subsequently formed. However, the capitals of Armenia have been located in different cities for several centuries. In 1918, after the proclamation of the Armenian Republic within the Soviet Union, Yerevan became the capital. A significant part of the museum`s exposition is dedicated to this event.
