In the central part of the mountain, south of the top of Vottovaara, there is an extensive crater called the Amphitheater. This is the most beautiful place on Vottovaara. In the center of the Amphitheater there are two marshes separated by a rocky ridge.
On the south side, a stone wall rises above the Amphitheater. Here is the famous seid-megalith Ukko`s Head. At its foot there is a flat stone split into four parts. This stone is called an Altar. On the north side, the top of Mount Vottovaara rises above the Amphitheater.
In the center of the Amphitheater there is a small swampy lake "Eye". In shape, it really resembles an eye. The lake is also called Sacrificial. Some sources say that the analysis of the soil from the bottom of the lake indicates a large content of phosphorus in it. Its source may be an accumulation of bones, which is evidence of the sacrifices carried out here.
If this lake was the center of sacrifices of a huge cult complex, then some other finds of household activity of people should have been found here. Moreover, the rocky ground on the top of Vottovaara did not require large-scale excavations. Alas, there is no other evidence except for the high content of phosphorus.
