    Bogolyubov Chapel in Tarusa

    Tarusa, Centre, Russia

Bogolyubov Chapel is located at the bottom of Igumnov ravine, at the foot of the Resurrection Hill. The Resurrection Church, the oldest stone building in Tarusa, was built on the top of the hill in the 17th century. The source was first mentioned in the chronicles of 1650. There was no running water in the city then. All residents of Tarusa and surrounding villages gathered drinking water here.
