Borjomi resort is located in a very narrow mountain gorge. The rapid Borjomula River flows along its bottom. The Borjomi mountain plateau has become one of the interesting attractions of this balneological resort, thanks to the construction of a cable car in 1960.

Borjomi Gorge is located at an altitude of 800 meters above sea level. By cable car, you can climb about 700 meters above the Central Park of Borjomi. The lower station of the Borjomi cable car is called "Park", and the upper one is called "Plateau". Going up in the cable car, all people take pictures of the surroundings, as the views from the windows are very beautiful. At first, the alleys of the Central Park and the Borjomi Mineral water Source are visible. As you climb, you get a beautiful view of the entire gorge of the Borjomula River.

On the Borjomi Mountain Plateau near the upper station, there is a small cafe, souvenir shops, as well as a Ferris Wheel. It is located on the opposite side of the gorge, so Borjomi Central Park is not visible from it, although the views of the surrounding mountains are very beautiful.

So far, there is no park or recreational area on the Borjomi mountain plateau. You can walk along the rocky ridge for about 2.5 kilometers. 1.3 kilometers from the Upper station of the Cable car is the Church of Seraphim of Sarov. If you go even further (2.3 km from the station), you can walk to the parking lot, where the path begins to descend down to the Sulfur Pools of Borjomi.

Some people who do not like to walk 3 kilometers through the Central Park to the Sulfur Pools, come by taxi to this parking lot along Platos Agmarti Street. The distance from the parking lot to the pools is only 600 meters, but the height difference reaches 120 meters. This is easier than hiking in the park, but it is important to remember that the ladder is not equipped and it is difficult to walk along it after the rain.
