Cathedral of the Nativity of the Holy Virgin Mary in Priozersk

The Cathedral of the Nativity of the Holy Virgin Mary is the main church of the city of Priozersk. It was built in 1847 by the French architect Louis Viskonty. The temple has features of the Byzantine architectural style.

In front of the altar of the Nativity Cathedral in Priozersk, there is a bust of Tsar Peter I, under whom the city of Korela (now Priozersk) became part of the Russian Empire. In 1945, the premises of the cathedral were transferred to the museum, so the temple was not destroyed. In 1991, the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos of Priozersk was returned to the Orthodox Church.
