In the center of Makhachkala there is a City Beach on the Caspian Sea. It would be possible to develop resort infrastructure here, but, unfortunately, during the construction of the railway, it was made directly along the seashore. This creates certain inconveniences for the development of a comfortable urban environment.
Makhachkala was founded in the middle of the 19th century as the main port on the Caspian Sea. The railway from Rostov-on-Don to Baku was carried directly to the port.
The City Beach is located near the spit, which is the southern border of the Makhachkala port. It can be accessed from Rodopsky Boulevard via an underground passage under the railway. Rodopsky Boulevard is sometimes called the Embankment of Makhachkala. A really beautiful art space has been created here.
The sandy Beach of Makhachkala stretches for 600 meters, and its width reaches 100 meters. There is a cafe and other infrastructure for a comfortable stay. The swimming season on the Caspian Sea begins at the end of June and lasts until October.
