The Cockerel Rock on the Psekups River is an interesting attraction of the Healing Park in Hot Spring. In its shape, it really resembles the crest of a cockerel. There are walking trails nearby, along which tourists can approach directly to the crest of the Cockerel Rock. A gazebo has been built here, which offers a beautiful view of the river and the low mountain peaks of the Pshafsky ridge.
The rock of the Cockerel used to be also called the Rock of Salvation. This name is connected with the legend that a prince of a local tribe escaped from the chase in one of the caves of the rock. There are two caves in the rock: the Sonorous Cave and the Cave of Salvation, but because of the steep slopes it is quite difficult to get to them.
From the side of the suspension Bridge of Hope along Sanatorium Street you can approach the foot of the Rock Cockerel, but here you will not see beautiful views. It is much more interesting to cross the bridge over the Psekups River, and from the opposite bank to see the Cockerel Rock in all its beauty.
