Fig Gorge is a deep canyon in the heart of the Old Town of Tbilisi. In Georgian guidebooks, it is also called the complex word Legvtakhevi Gorge. This gorge combines natural beauty, authenticity of the old town houses that overhang the gorge, as well as the high waterfall Legvtakhevi, which falls into the gorge from the Botanical Garden.

When you come to the Sulfur Baths of Abanotubani, you will see that the Tsavkisitskali River flows in a ravine between the ancient buildings of the baths and the hill of the Narikala Fortress. Most of the year it looks more like a stream, but during the spring flood the flow is quite stormy. On the right side is the building of Colorful baths in the form of a Muslim madrasah. Behind this building begins the Fig Gorge (Legvtakhevi).

For centuries, this gorge was used as a collector for sewage, and then it was filled up. In 2012, a complete reconstruction was carried out in Fig Gorge, and it appeared in its pristine natural beauty, quite unique for the center of a large city.

The height of the Fig Gorge reaches 50 meters. It is a canyon with absolutely sheer cliffs. The length of the canyon is 250 meters and it ends with a beautiful waterfall Legvtakhevi height of 22 meters. Paths and bridges are laid along the bottom of the gorge. Even on the hottest day, the water feels pleasantly cool. Fig Gorge is one of the top attraction in the center of Tbilisi
