Golden Line

The Golden Lane (Zlatá ulička) is one of the smallest and most atmospheric streets not only in Prague Castle, but in all of Prague. It is a tiny lane about 50 meters long, squeezed between the fortress wall and a complex of old palace buildings in the northeastern part of the Castle. There is not a single square, not a single fountain, not a single ceremonial staircase here — only two rows of little houses, each barely larger than a shed.
