Gunib HPP

The Gunib HPP named after Ramsul Gamzatov is one of the attractions of the village of Gunib. It was built in 1995-2005 in a narrow canyon of the Karakoysu River. The first HPP in Dagestan, and one of the first in Russia, was the Gergebil HPP. It was also built on the Karakoysu River back in 1935. The Gunib HPP became the upper part of the cascade of HPPs on this river.
